Je bent jong en… | Anne – Crohn’s, Strength & Self-Image

A documentary portrait of a young woman confronting Crohn’s disease through strength, fitness and self-confidence.

Episode

Part of the documentary series Je bent jong en…, portraying young people living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.

Anne (23) approaches Crohn’s on her own terms. While many avoid certain foods, her body surprisingly responds well to fast food. Weight gain from medication challenged her self-image, but strength training helped her rebuild confidence.

She enjoys festivals and refuses to let her diagnosis define her. Her story explores identity, resilience and personal boundaries.

Format

Je bent jong en… is a documentary series portraying young people living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.

Each episode follows one participant in their daily life. We film them where they find energy and balance: at the gym, in the kitchen, at work or with friends. The series is shot in a run-and-gun style to keep the stories spontaneous and grounded in real moments.

A second layer is added through reactions from Dr. Zlatan, who watches along and responds to key moments from the participants’ stories. His reflections provide medical context and challenge common misconceptions without becoming prescriptive.
