Je bent jong en… | Noor – Colitis, Fatigue & Work

A documentary portrait about living with ulcerative colitis while coping with fatigue and physical demands.

Episode

Part of the documentary series Je bent jong en…, portraying young people living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.

Noor (21) loves cooking, yet food can feel unpredictable because of ulcerative colitis. She deals with conflicting dietary advice and extreme fatigue, sometimes sleeping up to twelve hours a day.

Despite this exhaustion, she works passionately in childcare. Her story explores energy, recovery and the limits of the body.

Format

Je bent jong en… is a documentary series portraying young people living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.

Each episode follows one participant in their daily life. We film them where they find energy and balance: at the gym, in the kitchen, at work or with friends. The series is shot in a run-and-gun style to keep the stories spontaneous and grounded in real moments.

A second layer is added through reactions from Dr. Zlatan, who watches along and responds to key moments from the participants’ stories. His reflections provide medical context and challenge common misconceptions without becoming prescriptive.
